IEP War – A Poem For Parents

IEP War | A Poem For Parents

IEP War ~ A Poem For Parents

Tis’ the season,

An IEP’s the reason,

That parents walk through the classroom door.

They chat with experts,

IEP experts,

While their children play on the floor.

Confusion sets in,

From deep down within,

Until parents can take no more.

Their eyes become glazed,

And their mind slightly hazed,

As they peer anxiously toward the door.

As the meeting wraps up,

To every question, they answer “yup,”

While wishing they simply knew more.

As they leave for the day,

They make a promise and say,

“I will somehow win this IEP war.”
